Karin Lihzis
Founder
Karin was born and raised in Norton, MA. After moving around the US for several years, with her husband and family, they settled back in Norton. It was at this time, in 1981, that The Alpha Group was started. Karin had an idea – to create a staffing agency that would put the puzzle pieces together – matching the client (business) with the candidate (job seeker). Alpha's goal continues to “be the best at what we do, not the biggest.”
Karin’s mission was and still is to “put people first.” She believes the people are ultimately what determines the success of a business. As she often states, “If a company is going to invest in anything it should be in their people,” and they should treat them like family. If you walk into The Alpha Group you will see this family mind-set in action, from the “feel at home” environment to everyone working to help each other out.
The passion for helping others succeed allows Karin to effectively coach each candidate and guide them successfully through the job-searching process. She takes time to learn about each business – who they are and what they need to succeed. This enables her to make successful matches happen between employees and employers!
Using her strong emotional intelligence and ability to read individuals and situations clearly and quickly, Karin successfully determines the best placement for each employee and employer – helping the puzzle pieces fall together. Her energy and passion are contagious, compelling those around her to want to work hard and succeed.
When asked what she enjoys most about The Alpha Group, Karin warmly states, “it’s family-oriented…I treat everyone as part of my family.”
The belief in putting people first shines through Karin in both the workplace and at home. If you were to walk into her home you would most likely find her relaxing with her husband and two dogs – a Cavalier cocker spaniel and Havanese – cooking, listening to classical music, enjoying a fire in the fireplace, and spending time with her sons and their families, especially the grandchildren. Home is one of Karin’s favorite places to be. But when she’s not there or at work she’ll most likely be boating, sailing, shopping, tending to her flower gardens, traveling, or maybe trying to get back on the ski slopes.
Karin is a walking example of “home is where the heart is!"
Christopher Lihzis
President
Some could argue that Chris has been with The Alpha Group since he was 3 months old, which would be accurate. The Alpha Group was started by Chris’ mom, Karin Lihzis, in 1981. The skills needed to be successful have been part of him since infancy (literally for both the company and Chris). In fact, he may have learned how to put the pieces of the placement puzzle together before he could even walk.
Chris has been an employee of, and now president, The Alpha Group since 2001. This experience has allowed and assisted Chris in learning to put the employment puzzle together, effectively matching clients (businesses) with employees. His ability to ask the right questions and listen – to both the verbal conversation and body language – allows him to determine what will work best for all parties in regards to job placement.
In addition to his strong communication skills, Chris’ down-to-earth nature and sense of humor puts people at ease. Combine this with his integrity and honesty, candidates and clients warm up to him quickly, trusting him to have everyone’s best interest at heart.
When asked what one thing he enjoys most about The Alpha Group, Chris stated, “the people and the puzzles of matching clients with workers.” With his background and experience Chris is able to do this quickly and effectively.
When not working, Chris can be found at home with his wife, three kids, and two dogs. He spends his free time working on his yard, travel, and enjoying fine food. On Patriot’s game day you will find Chris either tailgating at the game or in front of his tv – yelling and cheering.
One of Chris’ favorite quotes that he lives by is, “It’s not the days in your life, but the life in your days that count.”
Jessica Kegler
Sales Manager
Location: Norton, MA
Jessica has been playing matchmaker for over 15 years at The Alpha Group. Whether you’re a client (aka employer) searching for an employee or a candidate (aka employee) looking for your next job, there’s a good chance you will have some interaction with Jessica.
Having been with The Alpha Group since 2004, Jessica currently specializes in the placement of administrative, technical, and distribution professionals. She has learned to read people very well, utilizing her emotional intelligence to interpret and understand what an employer is looking for in an employee, as well as quickly understand each candidate’s assets, qualities, strengths, and goals. These skills allow her to determine the best fit for everyone.
Jessica often draws upon her secret weapon: an unparalleled network of contacts and resources that can make matches happen like magic. She has become a successful recruiter by remembering that making the right fit for her clients is more than just matching skillset. It is matching the right personalities and the right culture along with the right skills.
Our clients know Jessica will present the best candidates for each position. Our candidates know they will be placed in jobs where they can succeed. This saves both parties time and stress in the job searching and hiring process.
When asked to share one thing she enjoys most about working at The Alpha Group, Jessica states, “That every day is different. We work with so many unique types of businesses and recruit so many types of roles for those businesses; we are always meeting new types of professionals and new personalities. No two placements are ever identical – that keeps things interesting and dynamic!”
On her days off, Jessica can be found spending time with her husband and dogs, or shopping for antiques or buying, distressing, and painting furniture – continuing to fill her home with family treasures and heirlooms, some dating back to the Civil and Revolutionary Wars. In fact, Jessica is a proud member of DAR (Daughter of the American Revolution). Having grown up in Wisconsin, she has a love of country living, and peace and quiet. This is why when she’s not shopping or antiquing, she enjoys reading, playing the piano, relaxing on the porch, being outside in nature, or learning more about her family genealogy.
Jessica’s two favorite quotes are: “The speed of the leader will determine the pace of the pack. Lead, follow, or get out of the way!” and “Reach for the stars, don’t live on your scars.”

Jennifer Corby
Accounting and Payroll
Jennifer is, in her own words, “southern born and southern bred, but lives up north.” Other than the owner, Jennifer has been with The Alpha Group since 1994! When Jennifer began her journey with The Alpha Group she brought with her six years of customer service experience, as well as education and training in computerized business administration. With Jennifer’s incredible memory she is able to assist customers on all their payroll and account questions.
When a client or employee says, “Remember when…” Jennifer can honestly say, “I do!” And that is a lot of years to remember.
Jennifer is one of our biggest fans. Ask her what one thing she enjoys most about working at The Alpha Group and she will tell you in her Alabama accent, “It’s the family atmosphere. Being here in Massachusetts for 25 years, Alpha is my family.”
When not at work, you’ll most likely find Jennifer enjoying time at home with her husband, daughter, cat, and lots of yarn. She’s crocheted for years, and now has taken on the challenge to teach herself knitting – which will come in useful during the cold winter months in Massachusetts.
Jennifer’s quote she lives by is, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” When you meet Jennifer you’ll know this is true!
